PVE and Norway sign agreement for historic 2025 event

Caorle, Italy, 6 October 2023 – Paravolley Europe officially signed contracts here today with the Norwegian Volleyball Federation and the club KFUM Stavanger Volleyball concerning the staging in the Scandinavian country of the 2025 Men’s Division C and Women’s Division B Sitting Volleyball European Championships.

“This will be the biggest development project for Paravolley Europe in the next two years,” said PVE President Branko Mihorko.

“We want to convince new countries to join Paravolley Europe and encourage nations already members to re-start their National Teams programmes.”

The newly formed divisions will be held under simplified regulations, allowing the participation of teams with not enough classified players for regular events.

“Our goal is to expand Paravolley Europe with as many new nations as possible and spread the sport across the continent,” added President Mihorko.

The contract signing ceremony, held here on occasion of the 2023 Sitting Volleyball Men’s & Women’s European Championships that start on Monday, was attended by a large Norwegian delegation that will also represent the country in Saturday’s PVE General Assembly.

The contracts were signed by PVE President Branko Mihorko, by Guro Roen on behalf of Norwegian Volleyball Federation President Eirik Sordahl, and by Hannah Sofie Perrens on behalf of KFUM Stavanger Volleyball President Arve Abrahamsen.

The competition is scheduled for May 2025 in the southwestern Norwegian city of Stavanger, the country’s third largest.
