Men’s Clubs back in exciting Sitting Volleyball action

Ten club teams are under starter’s orders at the historic town of Fermo, in Italy’s Marche region just off the Adriatic coast, as they embark Friday morning on their quest for the Sitting Volleyball Men’s Euroleague title.

Bosnia & Herzegovina’s SKISO Sinovi Bosne Lukavac who beat Serbia’s OKI Banja Luka in last year’s Eurloeague final, are both on track for a rematch this year, as will be the 2022 bronze medallists Robust of Slovenia.

In fact all of last year’s participants return this year – including hosts Synergie Fermana of Italy, ASUL Lyon Volley of France and Robust Sempeter of Slovenia.

But there’s four newcomers this year making their debut in the competition as Italy with ASD Alta Resa, France with Pays Voironnais Volley and Bosnia & Herzegovina with KSO Spid Sarajevo field second teams, alongside Kyiv Ukraine.

The ten teams are divided into three pools with the top two plus the two best third-ranked sides of each pool advancing to Saturday’s quarterfinals. The quarterfinals willl be followed by semifinals on Sunday morning and medals matches plus classifcation playoffs for all positions on Sunday afternoon.
