All the Sitting Volleyball fans around the globe are already looking forward to the top men’s and women’s teams to lock horns at the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte in the French capital.

The first matches will take place on the 29th, and the European teams will be vying for success in front of local crowds, with the competition reaching its climax on the 7th of September.

As many as eight teams per gender will be competing in two Sitting Volleyball tournaments - men’s and women’s.

On the men’s side of the competition, Europe is represented by host nation France, two-times Paralympics champions Bosnia and Herzegovina (2004, 2012) who also claimed Bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics (qualified for Paris 2024 after winning the 2023 Sitting Volleyball European Championships in Caorle, Italy), Germany (qualified after the 2023 Sitting Volleyball World Cup in Cairo, Egypt) and Ukraine (qualified after winning the 2024 Paralympic Final Qualification Tournament in Dali, China). The other teams that will be trying to claim success are Iran (Tokyo 2020 Gold medallists), Brazil, Kazakhstan and Egypt.

Hosts France, Italy (qualified after winning the 2023 Sitting Volleyball European Championships in Caorle, Italy), and Slovenia (qualified after winning the 2024 Paralympic Final Qualification Tournament in Dali, China) are the women’s teams who will be entering the floor next week, trying to bring the Gold on European soil. To do so, the European ladies will have to show their best game against Brazil (Tokyo 2020 Bronze medallists), China (Tokyo 2020 Silver medallists), USA (Tokyo 2020 Gold medallists), Canada and Rwanda.
