The Sitting Volleyball Tournament

Estonia, the most experienced of the three teams, were crowned champions after outplaying in straight sets their rivals in all the encounters they played. Andalusia finished on second place, proving better than Catalonia in their two matches, 3-1 and 3-2, respectively. The hosts of Catalonia became third, counting on players from CV Martorell, trained by Lluis Turró, Paralympic in the Barcelona '92 Olympics.

The event started on Saturday morning with the opening game between Andalusia and Estonia, with a victory from the north-European team by 3-0.

The Catalans debuted in the next game, also facing Estonia, under the watchful eye and warmth of Gerard Esteva, President of the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia; Maribel Zamora, President of the Catalan Volleyball Federation; and Ignasi Giménez, mayor of Castellar del Vallès.

The third fixture of the day, played in the afternoon, featured Andalusia and Catalonia, with a final result of 3-1 for the Andalusian team.

Estonia closed the day on Saturday with a game exhibition against Catalonia. The last two clashes played on Sunday between Estonia and Andalusia, and Catalonia and Andalusia, finished with results of 0-3 and 2-3, respectively.

The tournament days ended with an award ceremony - Jorge Barbero, President of the FS Castellar, participated; and Carlos García, technical director of the federation, delivered the medals and trophies to the participants.
