The third edition of the Champions Cup - Men concluded on Sunday with OK Fantomi Sarajevo winning their third consecutive title. Safet Alibasic was the player who shone the brightest on the court in Porec, earning not only another medal to his cabinet, but also the tournament's MVP award.

"The third title in a row with Fantomi means a lot to me. Before I played with Spid, winning the title six times in the previous format, so in total I claimed this title on nine occasions. I think that in the history of sitting volleyball, there is no other player with so many titles in this competition. I would like to congratulate our domestic rivals - Spid on their game and resistance which they showed. Now we look forward, and we hope to repeat this success again next year" - said after victory, Safet Alibasic.

In the gold medal game against his former club - Spid, Safet Alibasic topped the scorers' chart with 24 points. "I think that a key to this victory was that we were very well-prepared physically and mentally. We showed the quality of our players, even if yesterday we lost 1-3 against Spid, we came back and showed our strength" - he emphasized.

41-year-old Safet Alibasic, who is one of the most decorated Bosnian players, was named the Champions Cup MVP also in 2023, when his team triumphed in Dresden. However, he says that every individual award additionally rewards his work on and off the court. "It's obviously an important recognition for me, as it's an award for all the efforts I put in preparations, training and of course our games. Next to the team gold, this award shows that hard work pays off. It means a lot, especially at this tournament" - concluded Alibasic.
