Participation and hosting of the PVE Nations Leagues

The PVE Nations League competition is open to the Women’s and Men’s Sitting Volleyball National Teams of the member nations affiliated to PVE/WPV and which respect their obligations and financial responsibilities towards PVE. 

National Federations/National Responsible Bodies wishing to participate in the 2025 Nations League are asked to fill in and send the 2025 Nations League Team Information and Agreement Form no later than 30th November 2024.

National Federations/National Responsible Bodies wishing to host one or more of the 2025 Nations League group tournaments are asked to fill in and send the Form N2 – Expression of Interest NLs 2025 no later than 30th November 2024.

National Federations/Associations in the European Zone who are not yet WPV members are also encouraged to apply to take part and host tournaments from the Nations League.

Competition system

All Nations League Tournaments will be played on a round robin system. If there are only three teams in a tournament, then a double round robin system may be used.

Following the round robin tournament, there will be, if possible, the following matches:

Final for 1st Place: between the 1st and 2nd Placed teams

Final for 3rd Place: between the 3rd and 4th placed teams

Eligibility

For a team to be eligible to take part in the 2025 Nations Leagues, a set of criteria should be met, among which sending specific documentation before the established deadlines. More details here.

For a player to be able to take part in the 2025 Nations Leagues, they must have the nationality of the country they represent, justifying it with a passport or an official identity card with a photo.

Sitting Volleyball Requirements

The minimum number of VS1 players required per team will be as follows:

Golden Nations League

Men: A minimum of 5 VS1 classified players

Women: A minimum of 4 VS1 classified players

Silver Nations League

Men: A minimum of 4 VS1 classified players

Women: A minimum of 3 VS1 classified players

Bronze Nations League

Men: A minimum of 3 VS1 classified players

Women: A minimum of 2 VS1 classified players
