Seven top continental clubs will vie for a trophy again in Pisa, Italy—the charming and famous town in Tuscany that also hosted the maiden competition. Dream Volley Pisa (ITA), Giocoparma VC Cesena (ITA), ASUL Lyon Volley (FRA), ECE Sempeter (SLO), Kyiv Ukraine VC (UKR), Mozdulj SE (HUN), and ZKSO Bosna Zenica (BIH) will fiercely fight for the European crown from March 28th to 30th.

Two pools have been created from the seven participating teams following the Drawing of Lots that was held on November 5th. Italian teams Dream Volley Pisa and Giocoparma VC Cesena, Bosnian ZKSO Bosna Zenica, and French ASUL Lyon Volley are in Pool A, while Pool B features Slovenian ECE Sempeter, Hungarian Mozdulj SE, and Ukrainian Kyviv Ukraine VC. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the semifinals and they will compete on Sunday for medals. Classification games for fifth and seventh place will be played between the third and fourth-place teams in the pools.

In addition to being known worldwide as an open-air museum with their iconic leaning tower, Pisa is the hometown of the sitting volleyball powerhouse Dream Volley Pisa, one of the most decorated teams in Italy and Europe. They became the first Champions Cup winners in history, having hosted the competition's maiden edition in 2022 and finished on podium of the 2023 and 2024 EuroLeague, earning bronze medals on both occasions. Only a few weeks ago, Dream Volley Pisa defeated their domestic rival and the current Italian champions, Giocoparma VC Cesena, who are also an Italian sitting volleyball dynamo, in the Coppa Italia, despite finishing second in the 2024 Italian championship.

The reigning Italian champions Giocoparma VC Cesena will make their debut in the Champions Cup, but last year in their rookie campaign they triumphed in the Silver EuroLeague and finished 2nd in the Golden EuroLeague. They are now hoping for yet another success on the European scene.

Bosnian ZKSO Bosna Zenica and French ASUL Lyon Volley will also compete in the Champions Cup for the first time. Both teams have been gaining precious experience in the last seasons of the continental competitions, constantly leveling up their game; therefore, the rivalry in Pool A promises to be very exciting.

With two medalists from the first Champions Cup edition and the EuroLeague medalists the competition for the top spots in Pool B should be just as exciting. ECE Sempeter is regular podium finisher in European competitions. After finishing second in the Champions Cup in 2022, the Slovenian team, who have won the EuroLeague three times in a row, now has the chance to compete for the trophy that has been missing in their cabinet.

Mozdulj SE also was present in Pisa three years ago, finishing back then 3rd; in 2022 EuroLeague they were runners-up and earned silver medals also in the 2024 Silver EuroLeague, however, they missed a medal in the Golden EuroLeague, completing their campaign in 4th place last year.

Kyiv Ukraine VC will make their rookie performance in the Champions Cup. However, Kyiv Ukraine VC's women's team made their imprint on the continental scene, earning a silver medal at the EuroLeague 2023 and aim high in Pisa.
